Surgery overview

With this type of bariatric surgery, a band is laparoscopically inserted around the upper part of the stomach. This achieves the same “segmenting” effect as gastric bypass, but in a much less invasive way.

The advantages of this minimally invasive approach to surgery means less pain, faster operations, less anesthesia, much smaller incisions, fewer post-operative complications (such as hernia and wound infection), and less scarring with a better cosmetic result.
