Induction stove-tops cleaning tips

Kitchen RSS Feed

I've been quite frustrated ever since we bought our new stove, the rapid-cooking, high-precision induction type, with its gorgeous glass finish. As high tech as it is, it can get really messy. For months I tried to find the right way to clean it. First, I tried various kitchen detergents. Then, a dedicated soft plastic scratcher. Then a special cloth. Nothing really worked for me. There always remained a thin, sometimes sticky, film of grease, lightly covering the surface of the stove top, shining in the afternoon light and driving my crazy! I googled the topic to exhaustion, tried all of grandma's little tricks with vinegar and lemon, to no avail. I must have used paper towels by the ton to get rid of that disgust, but it was hopeless. And then I stumbled upon the Ecowashball, a hairy little sponge, featuring ceramic-treated plastic hairs that did just the trick I was looking for: A quick, thorough sweep of the stove-top with the Ecowashball and, wow! the glass top was again clean as new. You see, the Ecowashball has this incredible capacity to absorb grease like a nothing else I know. A rinse with warm water and the Ecowashball is ready to be used again and again, on any surface, from the stove-top to the kitchen counter, to the non-stick pans or those oily salad bowls. I got mine a few months ago at Ecowashabll and have been using it happily ever since. The Ecowashball comes in a pack of three sponges in three different colors, blue, white and bright yellow. I use each color for a different use. Even my boyfriend has taken one of them to clean his hands after working on his bike. It absorbs the grease so well, that he no longer needs to use this nasty abrasive jelly to scrub his hands clean. I'm thrilled to have found the perfect way to clean my stove-top without scratching it or jumping through hoops.
