Body language science - you can learn alot about someone
Body language science is the use of non-verbal signs and signals the everyone sends out in every situation from sitting with your spouse watching television to running for President of the United States.
It can be very subtle or very powerful depending on the user and the situation it is being used in. Subtly, body language consists of small muscle movements of the face or eyes and small finger movement or positions. More powerful body language are the positions of the body during conversation, posture, gestures, and facial expressions.
Body language science is a very important way to understand our fellow human beings even when the words they say are contradictory. Non-verbal communication conveys your message even though you may not have spoken a word.
Reading body language really isn't that hard, you already do it. Didn't know that, did ya? Well, you do and have since you were a kid. Rememeber when mom got mad and all she had to do was look at you with that look and her hands on her hips? That was reading mom's body language. What did it tell you? Probably to get up off your backside and go do whatever it was she wanted you to do.
There are people who have researched the power of body language and the study of it is fascinating. You can tell anything about a person almost immediately if you just pay attention to the signals they are sending. How do you think we make first impressions of the people we meet for the first time? Body language, that's how.
Posture is what you see when looking at someone who is standing or sitting. This may seem a little obvious but what can the way someone is sitting or standing tell you about that person? If the person you are studying is standing or sitting up straight and looking people in the eye as they speak, they are conveying that they are confident and are in control of the situation and are being truthful. Someone who is sitting slouched over, looking down or away, seems unconfident and insecure about why they are there in the first place.
When you see something or someone you like do you know how your body responds? Some of your response you can see and some you can't but other people can. If you see something or someone you like your eyes dilate and your eye brows arch. Your body turns to the thing you like especially if that thing is a person you like and you either open up your stance or sitting position as an unconscious gesture of welcome. Your feet turn toward the thing you like as well.
Just the opposite is true if you do not like what is coming your way. Your eyes will either squint, close, or you will put your hands up to block what is coming and you will turn away, cross your arms and/or legs to close yourself off from the undesirable situation using body language science.
