Landice treadmills - a quick review of the landice treadmill

Fitness RSS Feed

If you're looking to buy a high end home treadmill (or a commercial grade treadmill) chances are you've heard the name 'Landice' thrown about quite a bit.

That may leave you wondering 'Should I invest in a Landice treadmill?' Here's a quick review of Landice treadmills to help you decide.

Landice has been in business for over 35 years. What sets them apart is that they specialize in making only treadmills. (not treadmills and ellipticals and exercise bikes and home gyms...)

They've placed over 50,000 treadmills in the health club or gym environment. Because of this, Landice treadmills are generally viewed as commercial treadmills.

However Landice makes both commercial and high end home treadmills.

Their LTD series is built for home use whereas their Club series is constructed for very heavy use in club/gym environments.

(This is an important distinction since Landice offers both the Landice L7 LTD Pro Sports Trainer AND an L7 CLUB Pro Sports Trainer with several differences.)

While not everybody can afford a Landice treadmill for their home (prices start around $3000), this is one treadmill where you definitely get what you pay for.

Landice Treadmills offer:

>> Large walking/running areas with the motor power (3 HP) to back it up. (If you have too much belt and not enough motor power, you can quickly burn out your motor.)

>> LIFETIME residential treadmill warranty (5 year commercial warranty)

>> Aircraft locking hardware (which makes the frame even stronger than the standard welded treadmill frame)

>> 400-500 pound user weight capacity

>> VFX (Variable Flex) cushioning absorbs shock in the vertical direction only and doesn't allow side-to-side or rocking motions, which can be harmful to joints and knees.

>> 4-ply treadbelts that are twice as strong as the 2 ply treadbelts most other treadmill brands use. (This helps prolong the life of the treadbelt)

Landice treadmills were also recently voted #1 by Runner's World Magazine for customer satisfaction and have also received 'Best Buy' ratings from Treadmill Doctor.

The only drawback to the Landice treadmill is, of course, the price. These are high end, high grade treadmills that may be more than some people need in a treadmill.

However if you are a runner, in training, or just want a treadmill that can take a serious beating, a Landice treadmill packs a lot of value in for the price.
