All roads lead to rome not all to cesar
In the trade caravans, around the campfire, men recounted the history of man who went mad in Rome and did not see Cesar.
Although decreased and increased by repetition, it was more or less like this
In a distant city lived a rich merchant. His success with their caravans and their peddlers had given him fame, wealth and prestige.
The only city where he isn’t important was Rome. He tried several times to develop a work with the residents and owners of stalls and places but not succeeded.
That did not bother him, the demands from other regions have absorbed all his time.
With so much work to do he had not realized the growth of that market and the opportunities they could exploit. Until that moment it did not lack.
Of course he knew that one day he would turn their eyes to the region, the city might fame was spreading.
His assistant and close friend, experienced and successful peddler, had helped him in the construction of fortune, and began to cause him some concern.
The assistant wanted to expand business in a move that confounded excessive confidence in their competence with excessive ambition. He used to criticize him, and sometimes showed an unpleasant arrogance.
Among many alternatives he had studied, the only certainty was that he had no wish to lose the friend. Had him in high esteem, as well as his entire family.
One day, while checking the proposal of a craftsman, who brought him products to be sold, saw a cloak embroidered in gold thread.
Lights come on and thought worthy of Caesar!
There was the key that opened the doors of imagination.
He knew that Cesar used to repay with a ring the people who delighted him This ring could be his passport to gain the attention of people in the city.
He would then have the opportunity to give a mission to the friend, allow him to develop its growth plan, that exercised its ability to win, and both also would have financial benefits.
Gave him the cloak and a caravan with many supplies and they departed.
Long and tiring trip, but no other difficulties. Once in the region, all roads led to Rome.
Arriving in the city the experienced peddler wasted no time. Began working to find the best way to visit the Emperor.
Distributing gifts was pioneering.
Certain of success, wanted to surprise his friend and boss even, then did not send news.
This, in turn, with a heavy heart, did not dare to send a messenger with a fear of generating conflict.
Time passed. The line to get the password for the visit went slowly.
There was no gifts shortage offered by the parties which followed on pilgrimage to the city.
Offer the advantages no longer created opportunities and neither differed him.
The time clock does not stop and their supplies were dwindling.
Cesar, always busy, received a few visitors who were not honorable representatives of states. As Emperor, its political attributes absorbed his time, and some pleasures of which he loved.
When his turn came to get the password explained the reason for the visit and showed the rich cloak he brought to the Great Man.
To his surprise he was told that Cesar, dissatisfied with the cloak he wore, had decided some time ago to make a contest between the artisans. Whoever won would live the rest of his life in a beautiful house and would be its official supplier.
The news had spread among the country, and the artisans in secret produced a lot, and for a year long lines formed to please him.
Already pleased with the outcome, Cesar had declared that it would receive more visitors with this kind of offering.
Proud and preventing to give up the faithful peddler every day made his attempt. Exhausted its resources used to wander in the streets muttering unintelligible words.
The merchant worried by the lack of news one day went to Rome.
Arriving there he had been informed that his friend insisted on waiting in line, even if removed by the palace guards.
as soon as he saw him, approached. Embarrassed the peddler said - I'm sorry sir, I failed.
The merchant hugged his friend and said - No, you didn’t fail. Your journey is not over.
- Arriving in the city I was told that the Emperor is in search of a white lion to his collection. - I just bring one, luckily his guards saw him and told Cesar.
- We will be received tomorrow.
- We are experienced men, but that your journey has left us a great lesson, All roads bring us to Rome, but not all lead us to Cesar.
